BREAKING: MICHIGAN STATE LANDS DOMINANT FIVE-STAR FORWARD MALIK THOMPSON IN SURPRISE COMMITMENT, STATES TWO KEY REASONS FOR CHOOSING SPARTANS….READ MORE….

The Michigan State Spartans have done it again.

In a recruiting twist that stunned the college basketball world, Malik Thompson, one of the most physically gifted forwards in the 2025 class, has officially committed to play for Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans.

The 6-foot-9, 225-pound forward out of Sierra Canyon High School in California is ranked No. 6 overall by 247Sports and is known for his explosive athleticism, rebounding tenacity, and elite rim protection. With his combination of size and skill, Thompson has drawn comparisons to former Spartan great Jaren Jackson Jr.

In his commitment statement, Thompson cited two major factors behind his decision:

> “Coach Izzo is a legend. The way he pushes players to reach their full potential made Michigan State stand out,” Thompson shared. “And second, I want to win a national championship—and I believe we can do that at Michigan State.”

This marks the second major commitment for MSU in a matter of weeks, following the announcement from top guard Jalen Carter. Together, Carter and Thompson form one of the most formidable duos in the 2025 recruiting cycle—signaling that the Spartans are not just building for the future but gearing up for a return to national prominence.

Thompson will bring immediate impact on both ends of the floor, and his arrival is expected to electrify the Spartan fan base.

Michigan State’s 2025 recruiting class just got scary good.
