Duke Men’s Basketball Secures Thrilling 99–88 Victory Over No. 10 Florida, Remains Undefeated at 15–0…Read More….

In a showdown that delivered every ounce of hype and then some, the undefeated No. 4 Duke Blue Devils stormed past the No. 10 Florida Gators in a high-octane 99–88 victory inside a roaring Cameron Indoor Stadium on Wednesday night. The win not only preserved Duke’s spotless record, now a dazzling 15–0, but also served as perhaps their most complete performance of the season—an emphatic statement to the rest of college basketball.

From the opening tip, both teams made it clear this would not be a quiet midseason matchup. Florida, hungry and physical despite missing two rotational starters, came out firing behind their dynamic guard play and relentless transition attack. But Duke matched—and eventually surpassed—their energy with a level of offensive crispness that overwhelmed the Gators in the second half.

The night once again belonged to freshman sensation Cameron Boozer, who continues to elevate his game with every marquee matchup. Boozer finished with a commanding double-double, showcasing veteran composure in the paint and hitting timely mid-range shots as Florida repeatedly attempted to collapse the lane. His presence forced the Gators into difficult defensive adjustments, opening the floor for Duke’s perimeter shooters to feast.

Equally impactful was sophomore breakout guard Caleb Foster, who erupted for a season-high scoring night, including a devastating stretch early in the second half where he drilled back-to-back threes and converted a steal into a momentum-shifting dunk. His play ignited the Blue Devils’ 15–2 run that finally broke the game open after a tightly contested first 20 minutes.

Florida refused to fold, clawing back within five behind Xaivian Lee’s shot-making and a brief burst in transition, but Duke’s defensive discipline held firm. Senior captain Jeremy Roach orchestrated the offense masterfully in the closing minutes, calmly breaking pressure and finding open teammates as the Gators scrambled.

Head coach Jon Scheyer praised his team’s poise afterward, emphasizing the significance of beating a top-10 opponent while still discovering untapped levels of their identity.

> “This is the kind of game that tests you—physically, mentally, emotionally,” Scheyer said. “For our guys to respond every time Florida punched back, that’s what championship teams do. We’re growing. We’re learning. And tonight showed a lot about our toughness.”

Duke’s balanced scoring attack—five players in double figures—proved too much for a Florida squad that struggled to match the Blue Devils’ pace as the second half progressed. The victory also extended Duke’s home winning streak and further solidified their case as one of the nation’s most dangerous, adaptable teams.

As the Blue Devils move deeper into their conference slate, the spotlight will only intensify. But if Wednesday night’s performance is any indication, Duke is not just chasing perfection—they’re building a blueprint for something far bigger.

For now, though, the message is simple: 15–0, undefeated, and rising.
