Leicester Boss Russell Martin Issues Stark Warning to League One Rivals as Foxes Eye Climb
Leicester City manager Russell Martin has delivered a clear message to the rest of League One, insisting his side still has significant improvement to show despite a mixed start to life in the third tier.

As reported by Leicestershire Live, Martin remains frustrated that the Foxes sit only three points outside the play-off places in 10th after 13 matches, but believes recent displays point to a team that will become increasingly difficult to stop.
Following a 2-2 draw with Stevenage on Saturday that saw Leicester drop further points after twice taking the lead, Martin reflected on a campaign shaped by major summer changes at the King Power Stadium. His rebuilt squad has recorded five wins and four draws so far, yet the head coach admits both he and supporters expected a higher position by this stage.
“I think we’ve shown more of what we’re going to look like as a team,” Martin said while assessing the last five matches. “Our overall level of performance has been good, we should have had four wins and the defeat at Luton which we should have got a point from. It’s my job to be frustrated and demand even more, but we’ve been really happy with how the team has grown in a lot of ways, we’ve found a system that really seems to suit it.”

Three victories in those five outings have offered encouragement, with Martin convinced the foundations are now in place. Looking ahead, Leicester are unlikely to return to league action until a meeting with leaders Huddersfield Town on 21 November, after their fixture against Bradford City on 14 November is expected to be postponed due to international call-ups.
Martin was emphatic about the potential still locked within the group. “There’s a lot more to come, that’s the point,” he added. “And days like today (against Stevenage), games like this, in weeks, in months, we win them and we win them convincingly.”
The comments come as Leicester continue their recovery from a turbulent period that has seen the club drop into League One for only the second time in its history. While the new-look side under Martin has yet to hit top gear consistently, the manager’s assessment suggests growing belief that better performances and results are on the horizon once the players fully adapt to his methods.
