*JOHN FORCE ANNOUNCES RETIREMENT FROM PROFESSIONAL DRAG RACING AFTER 2025 NHRA SEASON, MARKING END OF ILLUSTRIOUS 45-YEAR CAREER!*

Yorba Linda, CA – After an illustrious 45-year career in professional drag racing, John Force, the 16-time NHRA Funny Car champion, has announced his retirement from competition, effective at the conclusion of the 2025 NHRA season.

Force, widely regarded as one of the greatest drag racers of all time, made the announcement at a press conference at his team’s headquarters in Yorba Linda, California, surrounded by family, friends, and members of his John Force Racing team.

“It’s time for me to hang up my helmet and step away from the driver’s seat,” said Force, his voice filled with emotion. “I’ve been blessed to have had an incredible career, with so many amazing moments and accomplishments. But I feel like it’s time for me to focus on the next chapter of my life and to spend more time with my family.”

Force’s retirement marks the end of an era in professional drag racing. With 149 professional victories, 1,048 round wins, and 16 NHRA championships, he is the most successful driver in NHRA history.

“John Force is a legend of our sport, and his retirement is a significant moment for all of us in the NHRA community,” said NHRA President Glen Cromwell. “We’re grateful for his contributions to the sport, both on and off the track, and we look forward to celebrating his incredible career throughout the 2025 season.”

Force’s final season will be marked by a series of celebrations and tributes, including a special “Salute to John Force” ceremony at the NHRA U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, Indiana.

“I’m excited to enjoy this final season with my team, my family, and the fans,” said Force. “It’s going to be an emotional ride, but I’m ready to take on this new chapter and to see what the future holds.”
