BREAKING: FIVE-STAR FORWARD FLIPS FROM LOUISVILLE TO DUKE IN BLOCKBUSTER MOVE — CALLS COACH SCHEYER’S VISION “UNMATCHED”…..READ MORE…..

In a stunning recruiting reversal, five-star forward Karter Knox has flipped his commitment from Louisville to Duke, delivering head coach Jon Scheyer one of his biggest victories of the 2024 class.
Knox, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound athletic wing from Tampa, Florida, and a product of Overtime Elite, was initially a Kentucky lean before committing to Louisville. But in a dramatic turn of events, he announced Friday night that he will instead be suiting up in Duke blue next season.
“Duke has always been one of those programs you dream about,” Knox said during a live interview. “Coach Scheyer’s vision for me, how they develop pros, and the chance to compete on the biggest stage — it just felt like the right move.”
Ranked among the top 20 players in the nation and a consensus 5-star recruit, Knox is the younger brother of former Kentucky star and current NBA player Kevin Knox. Like his brother, Karter is known for his shot-making ability, strong frame, and scoring versatility — but with a better motor and all-around game coming out of high school.
Last season at Overtime Elite, he averaged 21.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 3.1 assists, showing off a polished offensive package and improved perimeter defense.
Duke head coach Jon Scheyer wasted no time praising his newest addition.
“Karter is a competitor and a winner, and we’re thrilled to have him in Durham,” Scheyer said. “He can score at all three levels, defend multiple positions, and he’s hungry to improve. He’s built for Duke.”
This flip also marks a major blow to Louisville’s 2024 class and a huge boost to Duke’s, which now ranks inside the Top 3 nationally alongside Kansas and Alabama. Knox joins a promising group that includes Isaiah Evans, Kon Knueppel, and Patrick Ngongba II — forming one of the most complete and versatile incoming freshman classes in the country.
Knox stated two major reasons for flipping to Duke: the opportunity to develop under Scheyer’s NBA-style system and the chance to be on a national contender from day one.
“Coach Scheyer told me I’d have the green light to be aggressive, to grow, and to lead,” Knox said. “And when I visited Durham again — it just hit different. It felt like home.”
Social media erupted with the news, with hashtags like #KnoxToDuke, #TheFlip, and #DukeDynasty2024 trending within minutes.
Fans and analysts alike believe Knox could be a one-and-done prospect, with a skillset that fits today’s NBA wing archetype — strong, skilled, and explosive.
“I’m ready for Cameron. I’m ready for the Brotherhood,” Knox said. “Let’s get to work.”
