The Atlanta Falcons will take a loss like this—no matter how ugly it is—because they are on a losing streak.

After a lackluster performance by the offense, which almost cost Atlanta the game, the Falcons defeated the lowly Las Vegas Raiders 15-9 on “Monday Night Football.”

With no touchdowns and eight interceptions in Atlanta’s past four games, quarterback Kirk Cousins has been under scrutiny for almost a month. Even after he threw for a touchdown, the criticism persisted. His 11-for-16 passing performance resulted in 112 yards, and he threw another interception, his fifth in as many games.

However, Vegas was just as much to blame as the Falcons’ offence. For the most part, it sat in the muck. The Raiders gifted the Falcons strong field position all game long—thanks to turnovers and blocked punts—and Atlanta eventually took the lead.

With 10 seconds left and 35 yards out from the endzone, the Raiders offense missed two Hail Mary tries, making it an exciting late game.

With their winning streak resumed, the Falcons are still in the fight for the NFC South crown. They trail the Tampa Bay Buccaneers by only one game with three weeks remaining in the season. However, the Raiders are still in the running for the first overall choice in the 2025 NFL draft, after losing 10 games in a row.
