BULLDOGS BRING BACK FORMER FANS FAVOURITE  AS SENIOR ADVISOR TO HEAD COACH IN STAFF REVAMP — WILL EARN REPORTED $1.2 MILLION ANNUALLY…..

In a move that has thrilled fans across Bulldog Nation, the University of Georgia has announced the return of one of its most iconic football figures—David Pollack. The three-time All-American and former ESPN College GameDay analyst is officially joining Georgia’s football program as Senior Advisor to Head Coach Kirby Smart.

Sources close to the program say Pollack’s role will include strategic support, player mentorship, and leadership development. He will also work closely with the coaching staff in advisory capacities regarding defensive schemes and team culture. His reported annual salary of $1.2 million underscores the value Georgia is placing on his expertise and influence.

The decision comes amid a broader shakeup of Georgia’s football staff following the departure of several assistants to other programs and the NFL. With the Bulldogs aiming to stay dominant in the SEC and return to the College Football Playoff, bringing in a trusted name like Pollack is being seen as both a symbolic and strategic power move.

Pollack, 42, left a lasting legacy in Athens during his playing years from 2001 to 2004. He finished his college career with 36 sacks—a Georgia school record—and won the Chuck Bednarik Award, Lombardi Award, and Lott IMPACT Trophy. A first-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals, his pro career was tragically cut short due to a spinal injury in his second season.

Since retiring from the NFL, Pollack has become one of the most respected voices in college football media. He spent over a decade at ESPN, most notably as a fixture on College GameDay. His on-air dismissal in 2023 shocked many, but Georgia fans always hoped he would one day return home in a meaningful capacity.

“I’ve always said Georgia is family,” Pollack said in a brief statement released by the school. “To come back and be a part of this program again, in this way, is incredibly special. I’m here to serve the players, support Coach Smart, and help bring more championships to Athens.”

Head Coach Kirby Smart, who played alongside Pollack during their early years in the Georgia system, expressed his excitement: “David brings unmatched energy, passion, and insight. His legacy speaks for itself, but it’s his leadership and love for Georgia that make him the perfect addition to our team.”

Fan reaction has been overwhelmingly positive. Social media erupted with excitement as soon as the news broke, with former players and Bulldog fans celebrating Pollack’s return.

“This is a culture win,” one former Georgia player posted on X (formerly Twitter). “Pollack is UGA through and through.”

With this move, Georgia reaffirms its commitment not just to winning, but to embracing its heritage. And with David Pollack back on the sidelines—this time in a new role—the Bulldogs look more united and dangerous than ever heading into the 2025 season.
