GEORGETOWN, GUYANA – In a shocking incident, six Guyanese soldiers were attacked on the country’s border with Venezuela, leaving several injured.
According to reports, the attack occurred on Friday evening in the Cuyuni-Mazaruni region, where the soldiers were conducting a routine patrol.
Guyana’s Ministry of Defense confirmed the incident, stating that the soldiers were ambushed by a group of armed men, believed to be Venezuelan nationals.
“The Guyana Defence Force (GDF) is investigating the incident and working closely with Venezuelan authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the attack,” said a spokesperson for the Ministry.
