Los Angeles, CA – May 7, 2025 — Rock icon Nikki Sixx has once again proven that his creative fire burns as fiercely as ever with the release of his latest solo album, Eternal Shadows. Dropped worldwide on Friday, the 12-track record marks a powerful return to the frontlines of rock music for the Mötley Crüe bassist and songwriter—this time with a deeply introspective twist.

Eternal Shadows is Sixx’s first solo studio album in over a decade, and it comes with all the hallmarks of his signature style: thundering bass lines, lyrical grit, and an unapologetic embrace of both pain and power. But it also introduces a more reflective, vulnerable side to the rock legend. The album explores themes of mortality, redemption, inner demons, and the cost of fame—drawing heavily from Sixx’s personal journey through addiction, fame, and recovery.

In an exclusive interview with Rolling Stone, Sixx described the album as “a conversation with the past, present, and future.” He added, “These songs came out of long nights, old journals, and a heart that’s been broken and rebuilt more times than I can count. It’s not about trying to relive the past—it’s about making peace with it.”

A Tracklist Full of Emotion and Edge

Standout tracks on Eternal Shadows include “Fading Lights,” a brooding anthem about lost time and regret, and “Blood & Memory,” a high-octane rock ballad that showcases Sixx’s knack for marrying raw emotion with arena-sized hooks. “Reckless Horizon,” the lead single, has already climbed into the Top 10 on rock radio charts, praised for its punchy riffs and haunting lyrics.

One of the more unexpected gems on the album is “Letters to Myself,” an acoustic track with minimal instrumentation, spotlighting Sixx’s often underrated lyrical depth. “It’s like reading someone else’s diary,” said music critic Dan Holloway. “Only it’s yours.”

A Collaborative Effort with a Solo Soul

While the album is a solo project in name, Sixx collaborated with several artists and producers to bring the songs to life. Longtime friend and producer Bob Rock returned to the studio to oversee the project, while guest appearances include Slash on “Vultures,” and Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale on the haunting duet “Echoes Fade.”

The chemistry in the studio was reportedly electric. “Nikki knows how to dig into the dirt of a song and make it shine,” said Hale. “When he asked me to be part of this, I didn’t even blink. The message, the music—it all felt raw and real.”

Visuals, Tour, and Legacy

Alongside the album, Sixx also released a short film titled Eternal Shadows: The Visual Experience, now streaming on YouTube and Apple Music. The 20-minute film weaves cinematic visuals with performances and spoken-word segments, deepening the album’s emotional and artistic impact.

To promote the release, Sixx has announced a limited solo tour kicking off in September, titled Shadows & Sound 2025. The intimate shows will feature music from the new album alongside reimagined versions of Mötley Crüe classics and Sixx:A.M. fan favorites. Tickets are expected to sell out quickly, with pre-sales already underway for fan club members.

A New Chapter, Not a Farewell

Many fans had speculated that Eternal Shadows might serve as a capstone to Sixx’s decades-spanning career. But the man himself sees it differently.

“This isn’t goodbye—this is hello, again,” he said with a grin. “I’m not chasing hits. I’m chasing honesty. And I think that’s what people connect with now more than ever.”

In a rock landscape constantly shifting between nostalgia and reinvention, Eternal Shadows feels like both—a tribute to everything that brought Nikki Sixx here and a fearless step into what comes next. For longtime fans, it’s a deeply satisfying return. For new listeners, it’s a compelling entry point into the mind of one of rock’s most enduring storytellers.

Whether this is a new beginning or simply the next page in an already legendary chapter, one thing is certain: Nikki Sixx remains, as ever, unbreakable.
