Boston, MA – In a ceremony held at the NHL’s annual awards gala, Jim Montgomery, head coach of the Boston Bruins, was honored as the league’s top coach.

Montgomery, 53, led the Bruins to a remarkable season, guiding the team to a division title and a deep playoff run. His leadership and tactical prowess behind the bench were instrumental in the team’s success.

“I’m truly humbled to receive this award,” Montgomery said in his acceptance speech. “I’m proud of the work our entire coaching staff and players have put in this season. This award is a testament to their hard work and dedication.”

Montgomery, who is in his first season as the Bruins’ head coach, has made a significant impact on the team. His ability to motivate and inspire his players has been evident throughout the season.

“Jim has been an outstanding addition to our organization,” said Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney. “His passion, expertise, and commitment to excellence have made a significant impact on our team. We’re thrilled to see him recognized as the NHL’s top coach.”

The NHL’s Coach of the Year award is presented annually to the coach who has contributed the most to his team’s success. Montgomery becomes the third Bruins coach to receive the award, joining Claude Julien and Bruce Cassidy.
