*Guyana’s Prime Minister Arrives in India for World Sustainable Development Summit*

NEW DELHI, India – Guyana’s Prime Minister, Mark Phillips, arrived in New Delhi, India on Wednesday to attend the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS), a prestigious international conference focused on sustainable development and climate change.

During his visit, Prime Minister Phillips is expected to engage with global leaders, policymakers, and experts in the field of sustainable development, to share Guyana’s experiences and best practices in promoting sustainable development and mitigating the effects of climate change.

The WSDS, which is being held from February 22 to 24, is organized by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), a leading research institution in India. The summit will bring together over 1,000 participants from more than 100 countries to discuss and debate key issues related to sustainable development, including climate change, renewable energy, and sustainable infrastructure.

Guyana, which is a member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), has been actively engaged in international efforts to promote sustainable development and address the challenges of climate change. The country has made significant progress in recent years in promoting renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and eco-tourism.

Prime Minister Phillips’ participation in the WSDS is seen as an important opportunity for Guyana to showcase its commitment to sustainable development and to learn from the experiences of other countries.

During his visit to India, Prime Minister Phillips is also expected to hold bilateral talks with Indian leaders to discuss areas of cooperation between the two countries, including trade, investment, and technology transfer.
