SOUTH BEND, IN – In one of the most stunning upsets of the college football season, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish shocked the defending national champion Clemson Tigers, 38-35, in a thrilling matchup at Notre Dame Stadium.

The Irish, led by quarterback Tyler Buchner’s career-high 322 passing yards and 3 touchdowns, pulled off the monumental victory in front of a raucous home crowd. Running back Audric Estime added 123 yards on the ground and a score, as Notre Dame’s high-powered offense proved too much for Clemson’s vaunted defense.

“We knew it was going to be a tough game, but our guys showed incredible heart and determination,” said Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman. “This is a win that will be remembered for a long time.”

Clemson, led by quarterback Cade Klubnik’s 272 passing yards and 2 touchdowns, fought hard to the end but ultimately came up short. The Tigers’ loss marks their first regular-season defeat since 2019.

The win propels Notre Dame into the top 10 of the national rankings and sets up a thrilling showdown with rival USC next week.
