Louisville, KY – June 26, 2025 — In a joint statement released early Wednesday, University of Louisville head football coach Jeff Brohm and his wife Jennifer Brohm announced their decision to separate after more than 20 years of marriage. The couple emphasized the amicable nature of their split and their continued dedication to their children, family life, and professional responsibilities.

The Brohms, who married in 2003 and share two children, Brady and Brooke, described the separation as a “mutual and respectful decision” following a period of thoughtful discussion and reflection. The statement read in part:

“After more than two decades of shared memories, support, and growth, we have decided to amicably separate. Our priority remains the well-being of our family, especially our children, and we ask for privacy as we navigate this transition together.”

Jeff Brohm, a Louisville native and former Cardinals quarterback, returned to coach at his alma mater in 2023. Under his leadership, the football program has enjoyed a resurgence, including a trip to the ACC Championship Game and national top-25 recognition. Despite the personal change, Brohm stressed that his focus remains firmly on the team and the upcoming 2025 season.

“This is a deeply personal time, but my commitment to the University of Louisville, our student-athletes, and the entire Cardinals community has not changed,” said Brohm during a brief press appearance. “Jennifer and I will continue to support each other as co-parents and friends.”

Jennifer Brohm, a private individual who has largely remained out of the public spotlight during her husband’s coaching career, also issued a personal note of appreciation for the support they’ve received over the years. “Our lives have been filled with incredible experiences, many shared with the Louisville community,” she said. “I’m grateful for the kindness we’ve felt here and remain focused on raising our children in a loving, stable environment.”

Reactions to the announcement were largely sympathetic, with many fans and alumni offering their support on social media and local radio shows. “Coach Brohm has been nothing but professional and passionate about this program. His personal life deserves privacy and compassion,” said former Louisville standout Eric Wood on a local sports broadcast.

University of Louisville Athletic Director Josh Heird also expressed his support. “Coach Brohm has our full confidence and backing. He is a leader on and off the field, and we respect the personal journey he and Jennifer are undertaking.”

While no further details were disclosed about legal proceedings or living arrangements, sources close to the family noted that both parties intend to remain in Louisville to maintain family stability.

As the Cardinals prepare for their summer training camp and another promising season, the Brohms’ announcement serves as a reminder that even those in high-profile positions face personal trials. Yet with grace, mutual respect, and a united front for their family, Jeff and Jennifer Brohm are choosing a path forward—separately, but with shared purpose.

The Louisville community, known for its loyalty and warmth, will undoubtedly continue to support the Brohm family during this next chapter.
