National Mourning: Guyana’s President, Dr. Irfaan Ali, Loses His Mother, Mrs. Zamal Ali, After a Brief Illness
Georgetown, Guyana – The nation of Guyana has been plunged into mourning following the passing of Mrs. Zamal Ali, the mother of President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali. Mrs. Ali, a highly respected and beloved figure in Guyanese society, succumbed to a brief illness.
President Ali, who has been a pillar of strength and resilience throughout his presidency, was visibly shaken by the loss of his mother. In a statement, he described Mrs. Ali as his “guiding light,” “mentor,” and “closest friend.”
