Netflix to Release Jim Morrison Documentary in 2026: A Deep Dive into the Rock Legend’s Life and Legacy — Date Revealed…….

In a major announcement that’s set the music world buzzing, Netflix has revealed plans to release an exclusive documentary on Jim Morrison, the iconic frontman of The Doors, with a premiere date set for September 10, 2026.

Titled “Riders on the Storm: The Untold Journey of Jim Morrison”, the film promises a raw, immersive look into the life of one of rock’s most enigmatic and controversial figures. Known for his hypnotic stage presence, poetic lyrics, and rebellious spirit, Morrison remains a symbol of artistic freedom, counterculture rebellion, and tragic genius.

The documentary will take viewers on an intense journey — from his early days as a quiet, introspective film student at UCLA to his meteoric rise with The Doors, whose music defined an entire generation. With exclusive access to never-before-seen footage, handwritten lyrics, archival interviews, and recent commentary from close friends, historians, and surviving band members, the film aims to explore the man behind the myth.

Netflix promises a film that doesn’t shy away from Morrison’s complexities. From his creative brilliance and deep love of literature, to his battles with fame, addiction, and inner darkness, “Riders on the Storm” will paint a fuller portrait of the artist often reduced to headlines and legends.

“This is the Morrison no one knew,” said director Ava Kingsley, whose previous music documentaries earned her acclaim for their honesty and cinematic storytelling. “The poet. The visionary. The troubled soul. This isn’t just about sex, drugs, and rock ‘n’ roll — it’s about identity, legacy, and the high price of artistic freedom.”

The film will also revisit Morrison’s mysterious final days in Paris, where he died at age 27 under circumstances still clouded in speculation. Interviews with French acquaintances and biographers will provide new insight into that period, offering perspectives never seen before on screen.

With the 60th anniversary of The Doors approaching in 2027, “Riders on the Storm” is expected to reignite global interest in the band’s music and Morrison’s cultural impact.

September 10, 2026 — mark the date. One of rock’s greatest stories is coming to life like never before
