San Diego, CA – The San Diego Padres pulled off an incredible comeback on Tuesday night, erasing a 5-run deficit to stun the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-7 in a 10-inning thriller at Petco Park.

The Dodgers took an early 5-0 lead, thanks to a pair of home runs from Cody Bellinger and Justin Turner. But the Padres refused to give up, scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to cut the deficit to 5-3.

The Padres continued to chip away, scoring two more runs in the seventh inning to tie the game 5-5. The game went into extra innings, where the Padres took the lead in the bottom of the 10th inning on a walk-off single from Wil Myers.

“I’m so proud of our team for never giving up,” said Padres manager Bob Melvin. “We were down 5-0 early, but we kept fighting and found a way to win.”

The win was a crucial one for the Padres, who are currently in second place in the National League West. The Dodgers, who are in first place, saw their lead over the Padres shrink to just one game.

“It’s a tough loss, but we’ll bounce back,” said Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. “We’ll regroup and come back strong tomorrow.”

The two teams will meet again on Wednesday night at Petco Park, with the Padres looking to take the series lead.
