*Venezuelan Navy Intercepts Exxon Mobil Vessel in Disputed Waters*

GEORGETOWN, Guyana – A Venezuelan naval vessel approached an Exxon Mobil ship operating in the disputed waters off the coast of Guyana on Tuesday, in a move that has sparked tensions between the two nations.

According to reports, the Venezuelan navy ship intercepted the Exxon Mobil vessel, which was conducting seismic surveys in the Stabroek Block, a lucrative oil field off the coast of Guyana.

The incident has raised concerns about the escalating tensions between Guyana and Venezuela, which have long disputed the maritime border between the two countries.

Guyana’s government has condemned the move, calling it an “act of aggression” and a “clear violation” of the country’s sovereignty.

“We urge the Venezuelan government to respect Guyana’s territorial integrity and to cease all hostile actions,” said Guyana’s Foreign Affairs Minister in a statement.

Exxon Mobil has operated in the Stabroek Block since 2015, and has made several significant oil discoveries in the area. The company has maintained that its operations are in compliance with Guyanese law and international norms.

The incident has sparked international concern, with the United States and other regional powers calling for restraint and a peaceful resolution to the dispute.
