Minneapolis, MN – In a game for the ages, the Minnesota Vikings staged an epic comeback to defeat their arch-rivals, the Green Bay Packers, 31-27 at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday.

Trailing 24-10 midway through the third quarter, the Vikings’ offense suddenly sprang to life, scoring 21 unanswered points to take the lead with just 1:15 remaining.

Quarterback Kirk Cousins led the charge, throwing for 322 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-winner to wide receiver Justin Jefferson.

“We never gave up,” Cousins said. “We believed in each other, and we knew we had the talent and the heart to come back and win.”

The Vikings’ defense also played a crucial role in the comeback, holding the Packers’ high-powered offense to just three points in the fourth quarter.

“It was an incredible team effort,” said Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell. “Our guys showed tremendous resilience and determination. We’re proud of this win.”

The victory improved the Vikings’ record to 5-2 on the season and moved them into sole possession of first place in the NFC North.

The Packers, meanwhile, fell to 4-3 and suffered their second consecutive loss.

“We’re disappointed, but we’ll bounce back,” said Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. “We’ll learn from this and come back stronger.”

The Vikings’ win marked their first victory over the Packers since 2019 and snapped a five-game losing streak against their division rivals.

“It’s a huge win for us,” said Vikings linebacker Za’Darius Smith. “We’re excited to celebrate this one, but we know we have to stay focused and keep working.”

The Vikings will look to keep their momentum going when they face the Dallas Cowboys next Sunday.
