East Rutherford, NJ – In a thrilling comeback victory, the New York Jets defeated the Miami Dolphins 31-27 at MetLife Stadium on Sunday, thanks in large part to the heroics of rookie quarterback Zach Wilson.

Wilson, the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, led the Jets on a 10-play, 75-yard drive in the final minutes of the game, culminating in a 15-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Corey Davis with just 22 seconds remaining.

The victory marked the Jets’ third straight win and improved their record to 6-3 on the season, putting them firmly in the playoff hunt.

“Zach is a special player, and he’s only going to get better,” said Jets head coach Robert Saleh. “He’s got the clutch gene, and he’s proven himself time and time again in big moments.”

Wilson finished the game 22-of-34 for 275 yards and two touchdowns, with no interceptions. He also added 33 yards rushing on five carries.

“I’m just proud of the way our team fought and persevered,” Wilson said. “We knew it was going to be a tough game, but we believed in each other and came out on top.”

The Jets’ comeback victory was aided by a stout defensive effort, which held the Dolphins to just 262 total yards and forced two turnovers.

“We knew we had to step up and make some plays,” said Jets safety Lamarcus Joyner. “Our defense has been working hard all season, and it’s great to see it pay off in a big win like this.”

The Jets will look to keep their winning streak alive next week when they face off against the Buffalo Bills.
