Newcastle United’s new head coach Matthias Jaissle has reportedly approved a major move to reshape the Magpies’ midfield as uncertainty continues to surround the future of captain Bruno Guimarães. With Bruno heavily linked with a summer exit, Jaissle has identified Portuguese midfield star Diogo Valente as the ideal long-term replacement.

Sources close to the club claim Jaissle was impressed by Valente’s performances in Portugal and believes the 24-year-old possesses the technical quality, work rate, and leadership needed to thrive in the Premier League. The Newcastle board has now been given the green light to accelerate negotiations.
