Lubbock, TX — The Texas Tech Raiders Football Alliance has secured a major win on and off the field with the official signing of elite quarterback prospect Jaxon Hayes, a dynamic playmaker hailed as one of the most exciting dual-threat quarterbacks in the 2025 recruiting class. The announcement was made earlier today at the Jones AT&T Stadium, drawing cheers from fans and renewed optimism for the future of Red Raiders football.

Hayes, a 6-foot-3, 210-pound quarterback out of Frisco, Texas, brings a blend of arm strength, mobility, and high football IQ that has had scouts across the nation buzzing. Rated a four-star recruit by most national recruiting services, Hayes had received offers from several powerhouse programs, including Alabama, USC, and Texas A&M, but ultimately chose to commit to Texas Tech due to the school’s vision, culture, and offensive system.

“From the first conversation I had with Coach McGuire and the staff, I knew Texas Tech was different,” said Hayes at his signing press conference. “They believe in developing not just great players, but great men. The offense is built for someone like me to thrive, and I’m ready to give it everything I’ve got for Raider Nation.”

Texas Tech head coach Joey McGuire called Hayes’ signing a “program-defining moment.”

“Jaxon is the type of leader and competitor every coach dreams of,” McGuire said. “He’s got the arm, the legs, and most importantly, the heart. He plays with grit, intelligence, and intensity — all qualities that match the DNA of Texas Tech football. We’re building something special in Lubbock, and Jaxon is a cornerstone of that future.”

In his senior season at Frisco Centennial, Hayes threw for over 3,000 yards with 29 touchdowns and added another 800 yards on the ground with 11 rushing scores. He’s known for extending plays under pressure and delivering clutch throws in big moments. Analysts predict he could make an immediate impact in Lubbock depending on how fall camp unfolds.

The Raiders have prioritized building a recruiting class focused on speed, versatility, and high character, and Hayes is widely seen as the player who can elevate the entire 2025 class both on the field and in the locker room. His commitment is expected to influence several other top-tier recruits who were undecided but watching his decision closely.

In a message to fans, Hayes expressed his eagerness to represent the scarlet and black.

“I can’t wait to run out that tunnel, hear the crowd roar, and be part of something bigger than myself,” he said. “Let’s bring championships to Lubbock.”

With Jaxon Hayes now in the fold, the Texas Tech Raiders Football Alliance continues its rise toward becoming a true force in college football. Raider Nation has plenty to be excited about — and the best may still be to come.
