Baton Rouge, LA – July 2, 2025 — The LSU Tigers have added another explosive talent to their 2025 roster with the official signing of James “Jet” Walker, a dynamic four-star wide receiver out of Houston, Texas. Known for his game-breaking speed and elite route-running, Walker is widely regarded as one of the top offensive playmakers in the nation.

The announcement came from Tiger head coach Brian Kelly, who praised Walker’s athleticism, work ethic, and leadership potential.

> “James is the kind of player who can change the tempo of a game with one touch,” said Coach Kelly. “He brings fire, talent, and a relentless drive to get better every day. We’re excited to welcome him to Baton Rouge.”

Standing at 6’1” and weighing in at 185 pounds, Walker racked up over 1,300 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns in his senior year at Ridgeview High School. His blazing 4.38 40-yard dash time and crisp footwork caught the attention of recruiters nationwide. After narrowing down his final choices to LSU, Texas A&M, and Georgia, Walker made his commitment to the Tigers during a live ESPN broadcast on Monday evening.

When asked about his decision, Walker said:

> “LSU just felt like home. From the coaching staff to the fans, I felt the love and energy. Coach Kelly and his vision for the offense really clicked with me. I want to be part of something special here.”

Walker is expected to make an immediate impact in the Tigers’ receiving corps, which is undergoing a bit of a transformation after the departure of key veterans to the NFL Draft. His versatility in the slot and deep-ball capabilities are expected to open up the Tigers’ offensive playbook and give sophomore quarterback Trey Landers another dangerous weapon.

Recruiting analysts are calling Walker’s commitment a “momentum-shifting move” as LSU continues to build one of the top 2025 recruiting classes in the SEC. With National Signing Day still months away, the Tigers are showing no signs of slowing down.

Walker will enroll at LSU in January and is expected to participate in spring practice, where fans will get their first glimpse of what the speedster brings to Death Valley.

With James “Jet” Walker in purple and gold, the Tigers just got a whole lot faster—and a lot more dangerous.
