BREAKING: Reason why A huge fight breaks out in the Turkish parliament, with a female member being hurt

There was a terrible fight in the Turkish senate today because the opposition called President Erdogan’s party a “terrorist organization.”

During shocking moments that were shown on TV, lawmakers threw punches at each other, and one woman was badly hit in the face.

All the trouble started during a heated argument about an opposition delegate who was jailed on charges that most people think are politically driven.

There is video footage of Ahmet Sik, a lawmaker from the same party as the jailed deputy, calling the ruling party a “terrorist organization.”

Then, while he was speaking at the chamber’s podium, former football player Alpay Ozalan, who is now a member for President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s party, came up to him and attacked him.

The fight then involved dozens of deputies, and blood was seen on the steps going up to the speaker’s lectern.

It was also said that another party member was hurt.

Legislators in Turkey often get into physical fights.

“This is a shame,” said Ozgur Ozel, leader of the biggest opposing party. “There are no words flying through the air; there are fists flying and blood on the ground.” Women are getting hit.

The extraordinary meeting of the Turkish Grand National Assembly was called to talk about the case of Can Atalay, who was elected as a TIP deputy for parliament from jail in last year’s election.

He had been given 18 years in jail the previous year for his part in protests against the government in 2013 that were meant to challenge Erdogan’s rule as prime minister of Turkey at the time.

Atalay has been fighting to get his place in parliament since he was elected. If he gets it, he will not be charged with any crimes and will be freed from Marmara prison.

He said he would go back to jail when his time is up.

Even though the Constitutional Court has made decisions in his favor, lower courts have ignored them. This has caused a crisis in the courts and made his followers feel like they are being treated unfairly.

This month, the Constitutional Court made its third decision in Atalay’s favor. It said that the choice to remove him from his position as a parliament member was “null and void.”

Then, the opposition groups asked for a special meeting to talk about the case.
